THE TRAPEZE

William Galzerano

Trust… Consumes the flyer on top of the pedestal board so high.

Gusts of gravity flowing, blowing, challenging skills for those who fly.

There is a catcher and a flier a cradle and maybe a net.

A crowd that moves the ground with every thrill that’s met.

Effortless movement, dynamic moves abound.

The only enemy of this place is the hard compacted ground.

The catcher readies  his mittens and prepares for the flight.

The flyer takes a big deep breath, and leaps off like a kite.

The trust is in the catcher, he must be very strong.

Would take one second of regret, for all to go so wrong.

Releasing control of the line, at a time of  perfect  pitch.

At this moment the heart will stop waiting for the switch.

At the very last moment, when there happens to be relief.

The catcher grabs so quickly, like a seasoned city thief.

Now is the connection that everyone waited to see.

Heart pounding honesty. Trust is the key.

They make their bows and wave their hands, for those who watch below.

The naysayers said it could not happen, they did not want a good show

Half come for destruction, the other for the skill.

No matter what the reason’s be, all come for the thrill.
